I’ve spent probably the past 6 months working on a project that, in relation to everything else I’ve done, is huge. But after all this time I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (for a v1.0 launch at least). Just a few smaller features left that shouldn’t be terribly time consuming.
It’s been a hell of a learning experience considering I didn’t know anything about PHP before starting. I have definitely learned a lot about both PHP and CodeIgniter, the framework that the web app is built on. Proof is in the fact that some things that I gave up on and put aside a few months ago came as an “oh of course, that’s not really that hard” moment in the past couple weeks.
Needless to say I’m extremely happy with it and proud of myself for actually sticking to it. However, the next step is a crapload of data entry to get the database populated and ready for some sort of beta launch.
More details and links to come soon, so stay tuned.
