About Me

Hiking
Hiking in the mountains of Asheville, NC

First and foremost I’m a designer. Second, a cofounder at Cucumbertown, a delightfully simple network and recipe blogging platform for cooks and food lovers. It’s my first real venture into the startup world and it’s incredible exciting and terrifying.

I love creating beautiful pixels and meaningful interfaces for both web and mobile. Though I made the switch years ago to primarily web design and front-end development, I have formal college training in graphic and print design.

I’m a 26-year-old husband and father of a beautiful daughter. Outside of working, I enjoy listening to/playing/writing music, traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family.

What do I do?

My skill-set is varied and primarily focused on design, HTML/CSS, and jQuery, but I’ve been known to dabble in some back-end programming with PHP and frameworks like CodeIgniter. I also have experience theming for WordPress and Tumblr.

Where can you find me?

The networks where I’m most active are Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and 500px. But you can also find me less active on Dribbble, Flickr, and LinkedIn. If you need to get in touch directly, shoot me a note at dan [at] danhauk.com.
