A new chapter, a new design

February 1, 2013

Today marks the first day of Cucumbertown being my only focus. Up until now it had been a nights/weekends thing while I worked full-time at No Thirst Software. But we need to buckle down and release like crazy as momentum picks up.

This is my first foray into the tech startup world, and I’m loving it so far. I can only imagine how much fun it’s going to be now that I can focus my full attention on it.

What is Cucumbertown?

Cucumbertown is a delightfully simple recipe blogging platform and network for cooks and foodies. So many recipe bloggers have to rely on cumbersome platforms like WordPress or Tumblr to share their recipes. With Cucumbertown, writing a recipe takes little effort to make it as easy as possible to write and share your recipes.

We even have an embed option that you can put the beautifully formatted recipe on your own blog and match the style as if it were originally posted there. Plus other cool features and tons more to come.

A new site

With this new chapter I decided to refresh my website. So you want to blog? Yes. Though I’ve not been one for blogging in the past (past attempts often turn into only photo posts), I figured I would share my experiences and insights as I learn along the way. If it’s something I have just learned there’s bound to be someone after me that could benefit.

The new site design strips down to the bare essentials and focuses on content. There is a future post on the process behind the redesign, but for now I’ll just leave it at this announcement.
